I just heard this beautiful song by Lauv called, “Never Not.” It caused me to think about Anthony Bourdain and, more importantly, suicide in general.

As we travel through our lives, we leave behind bright sparks of love. Those sparks are found in the souls of the people that we have touched. When we die the sparks do not dissipate, they rise to the surface and bring sadness and pain that never ends. Anthony leaves behind an eleven-year-old daughter. I feel sad for Anthony but my sadness is tenfold for his daughter who must live with those painful sparks of love for the rest of her life.

If you have thoughts of suicide, get help. Don’t do it for yourself. Do it for those people who love you so very much.
